Support services for nonprofit people
One-off Consultations, regular Professional Supervision sessions, on-going Professional Development sessions, individual Crisis Support sessions and on-going Personal-Professional Development sessions for nonprofit people.
Session are available to staff and volunteers, team leaders and managers, CEOs and senior managers, and board and management committee members.
Consultations are held in Fairfield, ten minutes south of the Brisbane CBD, or via Skype for those interstate or in remote, rural or regional areas.
Services are sensitively priced to suit individual and organisational budgets and range from $150 for a 1.5 hour, one-off Consultation to $60 per hour for regular Crisis Support or Personal-professional Development sessions.

CEO Circle is an informal group that gives nonprofit CEOs and managers with the opportunity to discuss concerns, issues and challenges relevant to their role with their peers. Sessions are held every two months in the Ipswich and Logan areas.
Nonprofit Assist's peer support groups are a no-to-low cost service. In instances where a room cost has been incurred, a small fee will be charged.

Board Talk, a peer support group for elected (non-staff) board members will be available soon.
Where possible, this will be offered as a free service. In some instances a nominal cost may be charged to cover room hire.

In the Chair, a peer support group for nonprofit Chairs and Presidents, is now available in the Brisbane metro area with the first meeting commencing on Tuesday 3 May, 2011. Contact Nonprofit Assist for details or download the email that went out to our networks.

Individual professional development sessions are available throughout the greater Brisbane region for nonprofit leaders - including board members - who prefer one-on-one sessions or have sensitive issues to discuss. Sessions are available on an on-going or as-needed basis and are limited to one or two participants.
The service is designed to assist nonprofit leaders by providing independent, professional support for the individual, their role and their organisation within a professional development framework.
Organisational materials such as constitutions, annual reports, strategic and operational plans and more may be referenced where it relates to the participants' role. Individual and organisational confidentiality and privacy are strictly observed.

Singing Away the Stress is a professional development workshop designed to help nonprofit leaders and their staff to remember to take time out for themselves - to relax, have fun and reconnect with who they are outside of the stresses and strains of the workplace. No previous singing or musical experience is required - this is a workshop everyone can participate with joy and ease.
The workshop is facilitated by singer-songwriter Michelle Sheldrake, graduate of the Healing Power of Sounder teaching training program presented by Chris James, internationally renown singer, musician and teacher.
Workshops presented to the nonprofit community in general are available for a small fee. In-house sessions may be available on request.

Nonprofit Assist presents The Big Sing - Ipswich with Chris James, internationally renown singer, musician and teacher. This event is an opportunity to come together to laugh, sing and strengthen the sense of community we've all felt so strongly during the recent flood crisis.
Thanks to the generosity of Chris James and St Paul's Church Ipswich, this event is free of charge.

Governance workshops
The Philosopher in the Boardroom is a light-hearted, informal and practical way for new and experienced executive and non-executive board members to gain an understanding - or sharpen their knowledge of - nonprofit governance principles and processes. ‘Slide show-free’ and interactive, the Philosopher in the Boardroom workshop is designed give you and your board a taste of governance in action, and build the group as a whole.

Strategic planning
Like a thoughtful, logical, purpose-built map, a good strategic plan gives board members and managers alike a clear understanding of where their organisation needs to go, and how they’re going to get there. It will also help you ‘make your case’ to funding bodies, grant-makers, donors and sponsors, and provide you with a basis for developing organisational and individual key performance indicators. To make it easy, Nonprofit Assist will guide the process from start to finish, including facilitation of formative workshops for board, management and staff.
Support is customised to your organisation’s needs and is provided on a fee-for-service basis.
